FAQs

  • Please send us a message within your Member Portal. Not only is this the most convenient way to contact us, but it will ensure your message is routed to the appropriate staff member as it will automatically identify your chapter, contact information and/or the student you are associated with. Typically, all messages are responded to within two (2) business days.

GENERAL

CHAPTER HOUSE

  • Yes. All members and guests must abide by the Chapter House Rules at all times and pay to have access and amenities in common spaces of the chapter house as members of Sigma Alpha Epsilon.

  • Anytime you encounter maintenance at the property, you have the ability to enter the ticket into Revela via your Member Portal. The name of the Maintenance Ticket can be short but we ask you to enter a detailed description so we are sure to fully resolve all issues members encounter at the chapter house. The inputting maintenance tickets via Revela allows you to track Maintenance Tickets for the property in real time. Your House Director is also a great resource to get maintenance issues at the property resolved right away.

LEASING

  • Yes. As outlined in the Membership Agreement, all members are required to live in the chapter house for a minimum of two years unless the chapter house is over its required minimum capacity as dictated in the chapter's Master Lease.

  • Breakage Fees apply to all members who have not fulfilled their live-in requirement when the house is not full since living in is one of the obligations of your membership. Breakage Fees vary and are calculated each term based on the number of residents living in the chapter house. When the house is filled, Breakage Fees do not apply

  • Vacancy Fees apply to all members when not enough subleases have been executed to meet the minimum occupancy number. Vacancy Fees vary and are calculated each term based on the number of residents living in the chapter house. When the house is filled, Vacancy Fees do not apply.

  • Your sublease outlines the day and time when you're permitted to move-in. You may not move-in any earlier than the day and time outlined in your sublease. For more information on move-in for your chapter house, please contact your on-site House Director.

  • No. The chapter house is closed over winter break. Please refer to your sublease for the specific date in which you are expected to move-out for winter break, as well as the specific date in which you are able to return from winter break. For more information on winter break closure for your chapter house, please contact your on-site House Director.

  • Your sublease outlines the day and time when you must move-out by. You may not move-out any later than the day and time outlined in your sublease. For more information on move-out for your chapter house, please contact your on-site House Director.

  • Since living in the chapter house is a requirement of membership and all members sign a sublease agreement, lease break fees will apply. Those fees will vary depending on the timing of your cancellation request and our ability to backfill your space in the chapter house. For more details, please reach out via your Member Portal so that a member of our staff can assist you.

MEAL PLAN

  • If offered at the property, residents are required to participate in the meal plan; it is non-severable from the lease agreement. Residents will have meals prepared by an on-site chef on specific days (these vary depending on the chapter). Most dietary restrictions can be accommodated.
